Regarding my shark tatto, I grew up on the east coast of Florida and loved to surf. My third encounter with a shark ended up in it grabbing ahold of my foot for a few seconds before realizing he didn't want me (first two where very close swim-bys). It shred up my foot decently but not enough to do any damage. In fact the scars are actually starting to fade.
